Meet Lacey! ** SPECIAL NEEDS**Lacey's adoption did not work out for her, she just needs that special home!Lacey is about 1-2 years old and is a sweet hound mix! She is a fun-loving energetic girl who loves her people and other dogs! So, you must be wondering why a sweet girl like this would end up looking for a new home? It is simple - she is a special needs girl because she is completely deaf! Lacey loves her people and she needs a home where someone is home a lot with her! We think, because she is deaf, she has been let down by people and she has become very insecure when left alone.Does being deaf stop her from having fun? Absolutely not! She runs and plays like there is no tomorrow! She can keep up with the rest of the dogs in the foster home!Lacey's most favorite thing to do is to cuddle with her people. She loves to cuddle! She can be a bed hog at night because she cannot get close enough to you at times and you have to wake up to move her before she crowds you out of the bed!Lacey was found as a stray, maybe because she is deaf, and her owners did not realize that she was. We will never know her back-story, but we do know she is a loving, sweet girl that deserves a second chance at happiness! We are working on her hand signals as part of her training and will continue to do so while she is in foster care. Lacey will need a completely secure home (yard) so that she cannot wander away from home and with not being able to hear things that could hurt her if she ever got loose. We do not know about how she would react to cats at this time and we would like to suggest a home with older children that will understand that she is deaf and needs extra attention in the home.Lacey has been spayed, micro-chipped, vaccinated and heartworm tested (negative). Lacey's adoption fee will be $400.00 and will include her health records. If you think you would like to offer Lacey her happy ever after home, please complete our online adoption application at www.animalert.ca/apply/dog-adoptionIf you wish to learn more about Animalert, please visit our website Animalert.ca
