11 Australian Border Collie Puppies available - Mother is in two pictures and father is pictured laying on the porch - Puppies will be expected to have some longer fur than mother as father is long haired. Australian Border Collies are a purposeful cross between a Border Collie and an Australian Cattle Dog (commonly called a Blue Heeler). These are both herding dogs that are full of energy and zest for life. This cross can bring out both the breeds’ intelligence and mixes the border collie’s shy nature with the Australian Cattle dog’s bolder nature to make an ideal cross in between. They both love to work and are loyal and faithful pets. If you have an active lifestyle and/or live in the country this can be an ideal dog for you. Our Puppies are raised with family and come pre-loved and spoiled. We expect them to grow to between 35-50 lbs. Our puppies are well socialized, handled by children and exposed to other pets. Father is a beautiful black and white long haired full Border Collie. Mother is a pretty Black and white with medium length haired dog with the blue/black spots/ticking seen on the Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler - She is half Australian Cattle Dog, 1/4 Border Collie and 1/4 Husky). Both are happy family dogs living on the farm with children to play with and other animals around. These puppies were born on June 16 and will be ready to go on August 11 at eight weeks of age. We would like to meet each prospective "parent" and see that you are a good match for each other. There will be a $500.00 non-refundable deposit to hold the puppy of your choice. Puppies come with: A great socialized personality First vaccine shots Vet Record Dewormer Parasite prevention Starter Food pack The Australian cattle dog was originally bred in Australia as a cross between the wild Dingo the Blue Collie, and several other breeds along the way and was refined into what we know as the “Blue or Red Heeler” today. Their original purpose was to herd cattle so they had to be intelligent, agile and fast. The breed today is known for its high intelligence, loyalty and energy. It is not the type of dog that wants to lay on the couch all day. It needs action and does best when it has a job to do, excelling in obedience, agility and herding. These dogs need a firm hand when training as they like to be the leader of the pack. With proper training though, they become excellent family dogs. They will not do as well without some way to use up their excess energy but with long walks/runs and or ideally country life, they are both wonderful pets and loyal companions. Border Collies were originally bred in Scotland as sheep herding dogs. They are very sensitive dogs that are also high energy. They thrive on pleasing their master and love to run and work. They do need to be socialized well as young dogs so they do not become shy. They can be sensitive to loud sounds and need consistent leadership. This is a breed that lives to serve you and it is too intelligent to sit around and do nothing. They need plenty of exercise and love to have a job to do. They are at the top of the class in agility sports, obedience training and sheep herding. As seen in these pictures, we have 11 puppies, 7 are female and 4 are male. If you are interested, please text or call us at 519-275-4828. Please do not reply by email as we may only check it once every few days or even week and the puppies may not be available by the time we would have opportunity to respond this way.
